ETHAN PROW REASSIGNED TO PENGUINS FROM WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) have reassigned defenseman Ethan Prow to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).

Prow, in his first full season of pro hockey, spent last year at St. Cloud State University, where he tied the Huskies program record for single-season assists (30, Bret Hedican) and led all NCAA defensemen with 38 points. He was also a finalist for the NCAA’s Hobey Baker Award.

Prow made his ECHL debut with the Nailers on Thursday, Oct. 20, and recorded two assists in Wheeling’s 4-3 loss to the Reading Royals.

The Sauk Rapids, Minn. native played in five regular season games and two Calder Cup Playoff games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at the end of last season on an amateur tryout contract and recorded one assist in that time.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s next game is tonight, Saturday, Oct. 22, against the Syracuse Crunch at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
