HOCKEY DOUBLEHEADER HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEKEND IN WILKES-BARRE

Weekend

December starts with a weekend full of fun with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

EYEWITNESS NEWS FAN FRIDAYS return this week, as the Penguins play host to the Cleveland Monsters this Friday night at 7:05pm.  Lower bowl tickets are just $14 (while supplies last), thanks to our friends at Eyewitness News.  Fans 21 and older can enjoy $2 draft beers from 6-7:30pm, and everyone is invited to stick around for our postgame autograph session featuring a pair of Penguins players.

There will be plenty of activity on the concourse to get you ready for Christmas as well.  Wear your worst holiday fashions to take part in our Ugly Sweater Contest on the concourse, and you could win a classic Penguins holiday jersey.  Come early to get your picture taken with Santa Tux behind section 101 from 6-7pm.

It’s a hockey doubleheader on Saturday, starting with the Penguins hosting the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 3:05pm.  The first 2,500 fans through the door will receive a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Trading Card Strip, featuring five Penguins players.

After the Pens finish up, stick around to watch the newest team on the scene – the Wilkes University Colonels – as they host the Nazareth College Golden Flyers in NCAA action.  One ticket gets you access to BOTH games!

Show your school spirit during Saturday’s Pens contest by wearing your favorite college gear, and you could be a part of the in-game festivities!

We’ll keep the holiday happenings going the following weekend, with our annual Tobyhanna Teddy Bear Toss.  Bring a new, unwrapped stuffed animal to the arena on Saturday, December 15, when we host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and be ready to toss it onto the ice following the Penguins first goal of the game.  All stuffed toys will be collected and distributed to children in need through Tobyhanna Operation Santa Claus, a charitable private organization operating at Tobyhanna Army Depot

You’ll also have the chance to get those last minute gift requests in with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, who will be on hand to wish everyone a happy holiday.

Tickets for all three games are available at the Mohegan Sun Arena box office, online through TicketMaster.com, or by calling the Penguins at 570-208-7367.
