PENGUINS VICTORIOUS IN SHOOTOUT AT SPRINGFILED

NOTES

The Penguins’ current four-game winning streak is their longest of the season, and the longest since the team won four in a row from January 27-February 7 of the 2017-18 season.

The Penguins have won the past two games in shootouts, marking the first time since the 2011-12 season that the team has won consecutive shootouts. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton won three consecutive games in the shootout from March 9-11, 2012 (3-2 at Providence; 5-4 at Bridgeports; 4-3 at Springfield).

Penguins goalies have allowed just three shootout goals on 17 attempts this season (Muse, 9-for-9; Peters, 3-for-3; Jarry, 2-for-4)

The Penguins have four players leading the team with eight goals apiece (Teddy BLueger, Ethan Prow, Anthony Angello and Adam Johnson).

Ben Sexton made his Wilkes-Barre/Scranton debut on Wednesday in Springfield, and netted his first AHL shootout goal in the third round of the competition. He had been 0-for-3 prior to that successful attempt.

Thomas Di Pauli and Adam Johnson also netted their first shootout goals in the victory over the Thunderbirds. Each had failed to convert on Sunday afternoon in Hershey in his first career attempt.

The last time Penguins skaters went three-for-three in a shootout was January 5, 2011, when Dustin Jeffrey, Nick Johnson and Brett Sterling each scored in a victory at Charlotte.
