The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins travel north to take on the Binghamton Devils on Saturday night. This is the Penguins’ second time visiting Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena this season, following a 5-2 win on New Year’s Eve.

Following the All-Star Break, the Penguins return home to play the Cleveland Monsters on Friday, February 1, and battle the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday, February 2.

NOTES

The Penguins are undefeated all-time against the Binghamton Devils (7-0-0-0), but four of the seven games have gone to overtime.

Teddy Blueger is tied for fifth in the AHL in goals (20) and is one shy of his career-high set last year.

Blueger currently leads Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in both goals (20) and points (38) for the season.

Defenseman Ethan Prow (12+19=31) was selected to represent the Penguins at the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic this weekend. Goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood (2.63 GAA, .912sv%) and forward John Quenneville (11+11=22) will be the Devils’ representatives at the event.

Prow is on a seven-game point streak (2G-7A) and has the third-most goals amongst AHL defensemen this season (12) and fifth-most points (31).

Anthony Angello ranks second in the league for plus/minus rating among rookie forwards (plus-17). 

Penguins players Tim Erixon, Joseph Blandisi and Jimmy Hayes all played for Binghamton during the 2017-18 season.

Devils players Brian Strait and Eric Tangradi played for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for four seasons from 2009 to 2013.
