The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins take on their Pennsylvania rival, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, this Wednesday at the Mohegan Sun Arena.  The Pens look to bounce back after a 1-0 loss at home last Saturday.

The division rivals have split the season series so far, each tallying two wins. The Penguins have won their only home matchup against the Phantoms this season, 2-1 on November 16.

PENGUINS NOTES

Casey DeSmith has recorded a win in six out of his last seven games in net.

Stefan Noesen is second in the league lead in goals (12), trailing Utica Comets winger Reid Boucher (13).

Dustin Tokarski allowed only one goal on 32 shots against the Phantoms on November 16. In four games, Tokarski is 2-1-1, averaging 1.48 goals against per game with a .942 save percentage.

Andrew Agozzino is tied for second in the AHL in game-winning goals (3).

Forward, Stefan Noesen, leads the league in shootout goals (4).

The Penguins are second in the Atlantic Division in power play percentage (18.7%).


PHANTOMS NOTES

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms are 0-4 in shootouts in the 2019-20 season.

The Phantoms have lost their last five away games.

Lehigh Valley has the lowest ranked penalty kill on the road in the Atlantic Division.

The Philadelphia Flyers reassigned forward Andy Andreoff to the Phantoms last Friday. Andreoff has played 11 AHL games this season, tallying three goals and four assists.


PHANTOM-PENS CONNECTIONS

Pens goalie, Dustin Tokarski, played for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the 2017-18 season. During that span, Tokarski played 39 games, going 20-8-7-5 with a .915 save percentage.  

Phantoms forward, Cal O’Reilly was a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguin during the 2011-12 season. O’Reilly played 21 games with the Pens getting 10 points on 10 assists.
