BLOCK PARTY, FIREWORKS TO BOOKEND PENGUINS OPENER!
Opening Night 2007 promises to be a little bit different and a little more exciting than previous seasons. The Penguins will kick off the 2007-08 Regular Season on Wednesday, October 3 with a pre-event block party outside on the East Side of Wachovia Arena.
Games, inflatables, live entertainment and family fun will highlight the party, which is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM. The event and activities are all FREE OF CHARGE to anyone attending that evening's game vs. the Hershey Bears. Live Music will be provided by local up-and-comers "Lessen One" (View their Myspace Page). The band will be playing from 5:00-6:30 PM, and will be offering ticket & prize giveaways throughout its set.
Happy Faces (website) will also be on hand offering FREE face art and removable glitter tatoos for anyone not a Bears fan. (Ok, it's free to Hershey fans, too!)
Once the gates open (6:00 PM), the first 5,000 fans will receive a Penguins Mouse Pad Schedule courtesy of Molson.
Following the contest, the Penguins will end the night with an outdoor fireworks display, courtesy of Zambelli Fireworks (website).
