PENGUINS PARTNER WITH MY NETWORK AND CW

groupWILKES-BARRE, PA –  The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be teaming up with My Network TV (WQMY TV) and The CW (WSWB TV) to broadcast 6 home contests during the 2008-2009 American Hockey League season, it was announced today by Penguins President Rich Hixon.

The Penguins and My Network TV/The CW will produce a minimum of six games this season.  Penguins contests will be shown live on WQMY-TV and WSWB-TV.  Scott Stuccio handling the play-by-play duties and all games will be simulcast on 102.3 The Mountain. 

“Teaming up with My Network TV last year was a wonderful experience, and we are happy to be back on the air with the area’s local sports leader,” said Penguins President Rich Hixon.

"We're thrilled to continue the partnership with the Penguins," said Jon Cadman, General Manager of WQMY, WOLF and WQMY. "Our goal as a company is to localize our stations with sports, news and other community oriented projects. This collaboration is a major step towards those goals.”

“This joint venture between the Penguins and FOX56, The CW and My Network TV WQMY is the perfect collaboration of one of this area’s most popular sports franchises and the stations which carry more sports than any other broadcaster in the market,” said Cadman.

The television schedule also includes the 2008-09 Penguins Preview Show, which will air on WQMY, WSWB and WOLF (Fox 56) throughout this week.
