PITTSBURGH RECALLS MINARD

groupWILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Chris Minard from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.

Minard, 26 leads the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins  with 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in seven games this season.  He is also tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals and a plus-9 rating.  Minard made his NHL debut with Pittsburgh last season registering two points in 15 games, including his first career NHL goal and first NHL assist.

The 6-1, 200-pound forward has played 166 career games in the AHL over parts of five seasons with the Milwaukee Admirals, the Albany River Rats, the Lowell Devils and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.  He has tallied 123 points (71 goals, 52 assists) along with 89 penalty minutes.

The native of Owen Sound, Ontario signed as a free agent with the Penguins on July 12, 2007.
