PENGUINS RECALL LETESTU,
REASSIGN BOOGAARD

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned center Mark Letestu from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL), it was announced on Tuesday. Additionally, Pittsburgh has also reassigned right wing Aaron Boogaard from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to Wheeling.

Letestu, 22, began the season with the AHL Penguins before being assigned to the Nailers on October 15. He recorded three points (1+2) and four penalty minutes in six games with Wheeling.

Signed to an NHL entry level contract by the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 22, 2007, Letestu suited up for three games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton during the 2006-07 regular season, and appeared in two Calder Cup Playoff games for the Penguins, going scoreless.

The native of Elk Point, Alberta, led the Western Michigan Broncos with 24 goals, five shorthanded goals and 46 points last season during his freshman

campaign. He also ranked tied for first on the team with seven power play goals and three game-winning goals.

Boogaard, 21, has appeared in two games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, going scoreless with five penalty minutes. The native of Regina, Saskatchewan, made his professional hockey debut on October 20 in Bridgeport.

The 6-1, 215 pound forward was signed by Pittsburgh as a free agent on April 23, 2007 after completing his junior hockey career. Last season he recorded 21 points (10+11) and 173 penalty minutes in 69 games with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League.

The Penguins hit the road this Friday evening, when they will take on the Binghamton Senators at 7:05pm.
