The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned goaltender John Curry from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), and have re-assigned goaltender David Brown from Wheeling to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, it was announced on Tuesday.
Curry, 23, recorded a 1-2-0 record with a 2.66 goals against average and .901 save percentage in three games with the Penguins this season. A free agent signing our of Boston University, Curry has also posted a 4-1-0 record with a 2.81 goals against average and .905 save percentage in six games with the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL) this season.
Curry also competed for the United States National Team at the Deutschland Cup in Hannover, Germany, in November, where he posted a 1-0-1 record, a 1.92 goals against average and a .946 save percentage.
Brown, 22, has posted a 5-5-1 record with a 3.07 goals against average and a .920 save percentage in 11 games with Wheeling. He was originally drafted
by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the eighth round (208th overall) of the 2004 Entry Draft.
The Stoney Creek, ON native played four years at Notre Dame University, and finished his collegiate career with a 55-38-11 record in 111 career games. He ranks first all-time in Fighting Irish history in goals against average (2.32), save percentage (.916) and shutouts (12).
The Penguins return to action this Friday, December 7, when they play host to the Hershey Bears at 7:05pm.
