SHOOTOUT WIN MAKES IT SIX STRAIGHT FOR PENGUINS

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins extended their winning streak to six games with a 2-1 shootout win over the Binghamton Senators on Saturday at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The win also allowed the Penguins to stay a perfect 6-0-0-on the road.. PITTSBURGH RECALLS ROBERT BORTUZZO

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Robert Bortuzzo from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Bortuzzo, 22, has played in two games this season for WBS, going scoreless with a plus-3 rating. WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins made it five wins in a row, blanking the Hershey Bears, 4-0, on Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Joey Mormina tallied a pair of goals and goaltender Brad Thiessen stopped 19 shots to help Wilkes-Barre Scranton gather its first home win of the year. PENGUINS RECALL DEFENSEMAN ALEXANDRE PICARD

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Alexandre Picard from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Picard, 26, has appeared in nine games for WBS, collecting three assists and posting a team-best plus-7 rating – which places him 10th (tied) in the AHL.
