PENGUINS RALLY TO 6-4 WIN OVER PHANTOMS

October 17, 2015 BOXSCORE WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The late New York Yankees star Yogi Berra was famous for his many quirky quips and curious adages that have become common place over time. The most famous of which being perhaps, “It’s not over ‘til it’s over.” Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Head Coach Mike Sullivan was in the same line of thinking as Berra- but much more direct- in his postgame press conference after the Penguins home opener at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on… read more

BRIDGEPORT HANDS PENGUINS FIRST LOSS

October 10, 2015 Box Score WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – “Puck luck” is often an unquantifiable yet essential element to hockey. Sometimes, you can just never get a bounce to go your way. That was the case for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday night, as several split second miscues saw them fall to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-1. The most memorable tough breaks for the Penguins led directly to Sound Tiger goals. A jumping puck mishandled by David Warsofsky on the power play… read more

October 4, 2015     ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Sunday night's game between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Lehigh Valley Phantoms followed a script eerily similar to that played out on Wednesday night - but in reverse.   The Penguins clawed their way back from a 3-0 hole with three quick third period goals.  But a late goal by Danick Martel gave the Phantoms a 4-3 victory in the preseason finale for both teams.    In Wednesday night's game at Mohegan Sun Arena at… read more
