PENS PA STATE TROOPER WARM UP JERSEY AUCTION

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be auctioning off special Pennsylvania State Police / PSP Strong warm up jerseys to benefit the families affected by the September 12 Blooming Grove shooting. The jerseys, worn during warm ups prior to the team’s season opener against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on October 11, feature a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper badge on the front, as well as the PSP Strong logo where the players’ names would traditionally appear on the back. PENGUINS SIGN TORQUATO TO PTO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed forward Zack Torquato to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).    Torquato, 25, recorded two goals, five assists and 22 penalty minutes in 18 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last year.  The Sault Ste. PENGUINS ANNOUNCE 2014-15 BROADCAST SCHEDULE

PENGUINS ASSIGN HARTZELL TO WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned goaltender Eric Hartzell from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced today.     The 25-year old second-year pro went 10-8-1 last year for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with a 2.48 goals against average, a .901 save percentage, three shutouts and was named AHL Goaltender of the Month for January.    In 14 appearances with Wheeling, Hartzell posted a record of 8-5-1 with a 3.13… read more

PENGUINS INK MUROVICH

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed forward Tyler Murovich to a one-year American Hockey League contract and assigned him to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).    Murovich, 24, split last season between the Iowa Wild (AHL) and Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL.  In 60 games with Orlando, Murovich posted 18 goals, 12 assists and 64 penalty minutes, while notching one goal in 14 appearances with Iowa.   Now entering his fifth… read more

OCTOBER 4, 2014 The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned defenseman Brian Dumoulin and forward Bobby Farnham to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
