PENGUINS SIGN GOALIE CASEY DeSMITH

April 10, 2016   WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed goaltender Casey DeSmith to a professional tryout contract. DeSmith 24, is in his first season of professional hockey and has appeared in 13 games with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) this year. The rookie posted a 2.55 goals against average, .915 save percentage, and a 5-2-0-2 record in that time. CARTER ROWNEY NAMED CCM/AHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH

April 1, 2016   WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The American Hockey League announced today that Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Carter Rowney has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Month for March. Rowney tallied seven goals and 10 assists for a league-high 17 points along with a plus-8 rating in 12 games for the Penguins, who closed in on a berth in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
