SAMUELSSON ASSIGNED TO NAILERS

  Samuelsson Assigned to Nailers Pittsburgh assigns defenseman to Wheeling   WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – It was announced today that defenseman Philip Samuelsson has been re-assigned from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) by the Pittsburgh Penguins.      Samuelsson heads to Wheeling for the second time this year, where he posted an assist in one previous appearance.  He has skated in 42 games this season for the Penguins, netting a goal and seven assists. … read more

PENGUINS RELEASE FOGAL FROM PTO

  Penguins Release Fogal from PTO   WILKES-BARRE, Pa. –The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have released goaltender Brad Fogal from his professional try-out agreement.    Fogal dressed for one game with the Penguins and will return to the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL), who acquired the rookie netminder from Cincinnati on February 21.  Fogal had posted a 4-4-0 record for the Cyclones with a 2.78 goals against average and a .901 save percentage.  … read more

PENGUINS ANNOUNCE CLEAR DAY ROSTER

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. –The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, today announced their 2012 Clear Day roster.   Each Clear Day roster consists of a maximum of 22 players. According to AHL by-laws, only those players listed on a team’s Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remainder of the 2011-12 AHL regular season and in the 2012 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension.  … read more
