The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Steve MacIntyre to a one-year contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. MacIntyre’s contract is a two-way deal worth $600,000 at the NHL level. MacIntyre, 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, spent the 2010-11 season with the Edmonton Oilers, collecting one assist and 93 penalty minutes in 34 games. MORMINA RETURNS TO WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have agreed to terms with defenseman Joey Mormina on a one-year American Hockey League contract, it was announced on Monday. Mormina, 29, will return to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for his third season with the organization. The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed goaltender Brad Thiessen to a one-year contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Thiessen’s contract is a two-way deal worth $525,000 at the NHL level. NEW AHL DIVISION, CONFERENCE ALIGNMENTS

The American Hockey League has released its new division and conference alignment for the 2011-12 season, as well as the 2012 Calder Cup Playoff format, it was announced today by league President and CEO David Andrews.
