PENGUINS RE-SIGN KOSTOPOULOS

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have re-signed Tom Kostopoulos to an AHL contract for the 2014-15 season.   Kostopoulos, 35, will return for his seventh season with the Penguins organization after leading the team this past season in goals (22) and points (47).   He also ranked third on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with 25 assists in 71 games.    Kostopoulos is the organization’s all-time leader in games played (406),… read more

MEGNA RETURNS TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Jayson Megna to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced Tuesday by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Megna made his NHL playoff debut in the opening round against Columbus, appearing in two games. He played in 36 regular-season games with Pittsburgh, tallying nine points (5G-4A). It's a rematch of last year's historic second round series, as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Providence Bruins will meet in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. DESLAURIERS, HARTZELL WIN HARRY “HAP” HOLMES MEMORIAL AWARD

CONNER JOINS WBS FOR CONDITIONING

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned Chris Conner to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for conditioning, it was announced on Wednesday morning.   Conner, 30, recorded five points (4+1) in 19 games with the NHL Penguins before being put on injured reserve on January 3.  He also posted 11 points (6G-5A) in 15 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton earlier this year.
