February 24, 2016   WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today they have reassigned goalie Brian Foster to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL). In 14 games with the Nailers this season, Foster has a 6-7-0-1 record, a 3.12 goals against average, and .899 save percentage. Foster, 28, has appeared in five games this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting a 2.97 goals against average and .879 save percentage. PENGUINS ANNOUNCE JARRETT BURTON SIGNING

February 6, 2016   WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) forward Jarrett Burton to a professional tryout contract. An undrafted free agent out of Clarkson University, the second-year pro currently leads the Nailers with 15 goals and 38 points this season.   February 4, 2016   The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Oskar Sundqvist from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.   Sundqvist, 21, is in his first full season in North America, playing 39 AHL games for WBS, tallying five goals, 11 assists and 16 points.   The 6-foot-3, 209-pound Sundqvist joined WBS last season during its playoff run, skating in one postseason contest.… read more

PITTSBURGH SIGNS SESTITO TO NHL DEAL

  February 1, 2016   The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Tom Sestito to a one-year contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.   The deal is a two-way contact that runs through the end of the 2015-16 season and carries an average annual value of $575,000 at the NHL level.   Sestito had been playing with WBS this season on a professional tryout contract.   The Penguins will be placing Sestito on waivers Monday, and… read more

JOHN SLANEY TO BE INDUCTED INTO WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON PENGUINS HALL OF FAME

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are proud to announce that defenseman John Slaney has been selected for induction into the team’s Hall of Fame.  Slaney becomes the fourth person to join the hall, following the inductions of Dennis Bonvie, Alain Nasreddine and Kevin Blaum in 2014.
