HARTZELL AND MUROVICH ASSIGNED TO WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned goaltender Eric Hartzell from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced today.  In a separate transaction, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has returned forward Tyler Murovich on loan to Wheeling.    In two appearances this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hartzell has gone 2-0-0 with a 2.92 goals against average and a .882 save percentage.   He has also compiled a record of 5-4-0… read more

MUROVICH RECALLED BY PENGUINS

  WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have recalled forward Tyler Murovich from loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).    Murovich has collected three goals, three assists and 32 penalty minutes in 21 games this season for the Nailers.  The 25-year-old split last year between the Iowa Wild (AHL) and the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears.  In 60 games with Orlando, Murovich posted 30 points (18G-12A) and 64 penalty minutes, while… read more

PITTSBURGH RECALLS ZATKOFF, MEGNA

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled Jeff Zatkoff and Jayson Megna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by Executive Vice President and General Manager Jim Rutherford. Zatkoff saw action in his first NHL game of the season last Saturday at Tampa Bay, stopping 16 of the 17 shots he faced in 37 minutes of relief.
