HARTZELL ASSIGNED TO WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that goaltender Eric Hartzell has been assigned to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) by the Pittsburgh Penguins.    Hartzell, 24, has posted a record of 10-7-1 for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with a 2.30 goals against average, a .908 save percentage and three shutouts.  The rookie netminder has gone 4-4-1 with Wheeling, while compiling a 3.32 GAA and a .896 save percentage.   Hartzell was named USA Hockey College… read more

PENGUINS SIGN SHEARY TO ATO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed forward Conor Sheary to an amateur tryout agreement (ATO).  The Penguins have also agreed to terms with Sheary on an American Hockey League contract for the 2014-15 season.    Sheary, 21, recently completed his senior season at the University of Massachusetts, where he compiled 28 points (9g-19a) in 34 games.  He served as team captain while leading the Minutemen in assists (19),… read more

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Chuck Kobasew to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
