PENS SALUTE ARMED FORCES THIS WEEKEND

February 16, 2015 The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will honor members of the armed forces this weekend during their annual Military Appreciation Night, presented by MetLife. The Penguins host the Providence Bruins on Saturday night, February 21 at 7:05pm.  The team will be wearing special camo jerseys which will be auctioned off during the game, and special military displays provided by the Tobyhanna Army Depot will be on display outside of the arena. PITTSBURGH REASSIGNS HARRINGTON

FEBRUARY 9, 2015 The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned defenseman Scott Harrington to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford. Harrington, 21, has played in 10 NHL games with Pittsburgh this season, averaging 15:48 minutes. He made his NHL debut on Dec. 18 against Colorado. PENGUINS’ MURRAY NAMED CCM/AHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, in conjunction with the American Hockey League announced today that goaltender Matt Murray has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 8, 2015.   Murray stopped 64 of 65 shots in two starts last week, posting a 2-0-0 record, a 0.50 goals-against average and a .985 save percentage.   On Tuesday night, Murray made 28 saves for his fifth shutout of the season, backstopping Wilkes-Barre/Scranton… read more

PENGUINS RECALL BOAK FROM WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today announced that defenseman Alex Boak has been recalled from loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).   Boak has skated in 19 games for the Penguins, registering one goal, three assists and 32 penalty minutes.
