PENGUINS ASSIGN ZLOBIN TO NAILERS

  WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – It was announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned forward Anton Zlobin from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.    Zlobin, 20, spent the 2012-13 season with Val d’Or of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, leading the Foreurs in assists (62) and points (91), while also scoring 29 goals in 61 games.  He also ranked ninth overall in the league in points and was tied for fourth in assists. … read more

RUOPP ASSIGNED TO WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – It was announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned defenseman Harrison Ruopp from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.    Ruopp spent four seasons with the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League.  The 20-year old totaled three goals, 31 assists and 395 penalty minutes in 214 contests from 2010-2013.  He also appeared in ten playoff games for the Raiders.    Originally a 2011 third-round… read more

PENGUINS ASSIGN HARTZELL TO WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – It was announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned goaltender Eric Hartzell from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.    Hartzell, 23, originally signed with Pittsburgh in April after completing four seasons with Quinnipiac University. MEGNA RECALLED BY PITTSBURGH

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Jayson Megna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
