CHRIS CONNER RECALLED BY PITTSBURGH

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Chris Conner from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Conner, 26, previously spent six games with the Penguins from Oct. 30 – Nov. 12. He recorded one assist and had seven shots on goal while averaging 9:06 minutes of ice time. Conner (5-foot-8, 180 pounds) appeared in 24 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season and ranks fifth on the club with 22 points… read more

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forwards Dustin Jeffrey and Nick Johnson from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Jeffrey, 21, is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s leading scorer, and ranks fifth in the entire AHL with 43 points on 13 goals and 30 assists in 39 games. JEFFREY HELPS CANADA TO ALL-STAR WIN

Dustin Jeffrey scored with 5:19 remaining in regulation, then went on to set up fellow starter Alexandre Giroux’s game-tying goal in the Canadian All-Stars’ 10-9 shootout victory over the PlanetUSA All-Stars at the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic on Tuesday night.
