PENS COMPLETE PERFECT WEEKEND WITH 5-4 OT WIN OVER THE CRUNCH

By Mike Shields - November 9, 2014 Jean-Sebastian Dea lit up the lamp at the 3:21 mark of overtime to lift the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 5-4 win over the Syracuse Crunch on Sunday night.  The win gives the Pens (8-5-1-0, 17 points) a clean sweep of their three-game weekend and puts them solely on top of the East Division, while the loss drops the Crunch’s record to 5-4-3-0, 13 points.   The goal was Dea’s second overtime tally of the season, and puts him tied… read more

PENS AND CRUNCH MEET TODAY AT 4:05

November 9, 2014 The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins look to make it a perfect weekend when they host the Syracuse Crunch today at 4:05pm. The Pens (7-5-1-0, T-1st in East Division) overcame a 2-0 third period deficit on Friday night to post a 3-2 win over the Bears on home ice, then took it to the Binghamton Senators, 6-4, last night in New York (highlights above).  The Crunch (5-4-2-0, 5th in Northeast Division) are undefeated in their past three games (2-0-1-0). ROOKIES LEAD THE WAY AS PENS DROP SENS

November 8, 2014 Rookies led the way for the visitors on Saturday night, as first year pros scored four times to help the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 6-4 win over the Binghamton Senators at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins look to carry the momentum of a big come-from behind win over the Hershey Bears on Friday into Binghamton tonight, where they will face the Senators at 7:05pm. FORMER PENS HIT THE WORLD STAGE

National pride was on display in Sochi, Russia last February, as professional hockey players from the world over converged on the city to take part in the XXII Winter Olympic Games.  And for the second straight tournament, Team Canada took home the gold with a nearly unblemished record. PENS CLASH WITH BEARS FRIDAY NIGHT

PENS RECALL ROWNEY FROM WHEELING

November 5, 2014 WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Carter Rowney has been recalled from loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).    Rowney is currently tied for the lead on the Nailers with seven points (1G-6A) in five games this season.  The 25-year old second-year pro split last year between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Wheeling, chipping in two goals and two assists in 24 games for the Penguins.  Despite appearing in just 39… read more
