PENGUINS ANNOUNCE 2014-15 BROADCAST SCHEDULE

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, in conjunction with Entercom Radio and My Network TV (WGMY), have announced its 2014-15 broadcast schedule.  Penguins broadcasts will be carried live on the team’s new flagship radio station, WILK Newsradio, while My Network TV will also air eight Saturday games during the season.    Seventy-four of the Penguins’ 76 regular season games will be heard on 103.1FM-WILK throughout the Wyoming Valley and also simulcast… read more

PENGUINS ASSIGN HARTZELL TO WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned goaltender Eric Hartzell from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced today.     The 25-year old second-year pro went 10-8-1 last year for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with a 2.48 goals against average, a .901 save percentage, three shutouts and was named AHL Goaltender of the Month for January.    In 14 appearances with Wheeling, Hartzell posted a record of 8-5-1 with a 3.13… read more

PENGUINS INK MUROVICH

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed forward Tyler Murovich to a one-year American Hockey League contract and assigned him to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).    Murovich, 24, split last season between the Iowa Wild (AHL) and Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL.  In 60 games with Orlando, Murovich posted 18 goals, 12 assists and 64 penalty minutes, while notching one goal in 14 appearances with Iowa.   Now entering his fifth… read more

PENS AND PSP TEAM UP FOR WEEKEND GAMES

Six-year old Adam Dickson and eight-year old Bryon Dickson, the sons of Cpl. Bryon Dickson, will drop the ceremonial puck before the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins home opener, this Saturday night, October 11, against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. OVERTIME AT FOREFRONT OF AHL RULES CHANGES

ZATKOFF BACK IN WILKES-BARRE

PENS TO SHOW SUPPORT OF PA STATE TROOPERS ON OPENING WEEKEND

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be helping to raise funds for the families of Cpl. Bryon Dickson and Trooper Alex Douglas, while showing support for the troopers who are currently engaged in the search for their accused shooter, during the opening weekend of the American Hockey League season. PENS DROP PRESEASON FINALE TO BEARS

A fight-filled afternoon went the hosts way, as the Hershey Bears posted a 6-1 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Sunday at the Giant Center.  With the win, the Bears finished their preseason schedule at 2-2-0-0, while the Penguins completed exhibition play with a 2-1-0-0 mark. PENS BEAT BEARS, 4-2

October 4, 2014 Rookies ruled the night at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, as four first-year prospects scored goals in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins’ 4-2 win over the Hershey Bears. The win was the second in as many games for the Penguins in the exhibition season, while the Bears saw their preseason record fall to 2-1-0-0.
