PENGUINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Denver Manderson has been returned on loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).  In a separate transaction, defenseman Barry Goers has been released from his professional tryout agreement (PTO) and will return to the Nailers.    Manderson, 24, has skated in 25 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, netting his first AHL goal on Jan. 29 and also recording six assists and four penalty minutes. … read more

GIBBONS, MEGNA, ZOLNIERCZYK RETURN TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forwards Brian Gibbons, Jayson Megna and Harry Zolnierczyk to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. EBBETT’S RETURN SPARKS PENS TO 5-1 WIN OVER PIRATES

Andrew Ebbett’s return to Wilkes-Barre proved to be the perfect antidote to the Penguins’ power play woes. Re-assigned from Pittsburgh earlier in the week, Ebbett notched two goals and added an assist as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton skated to a 5-1 win over the Portland Pirates on Friday night at Mohegan Sun Arena. PENGUINS ACQUIRE SPENCER MACHACEK FROM COLUMBUS

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Spencer Machacek from the Columbus Blue Jackets for Paul Thompson, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Machacek will report to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL). AMERKS SHUT OUT THE PENS, 4-0

The Rochester Americans ran their winning streak to seven straight on Saturday night, taking a 4-0 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
