PENGUINS RECALL MANDERSON, SIGN GOERS

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Denver Manderson has been recalled from loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) and defenseman Barry Goers has been signed to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).    Manderson, 24, has appeared in 25 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, netting his first AHL goal on Jan. 29, and also recording six assists and four penalty minutes.  Assigned to Wheeling on Saturday, Manderson registered… read more

PENS PICK UP POINT IN OVERTIME LOSS TO BEARS

Dustin Gazley scored 47 seconds into overtime to give the Hershey Bears a 4-3 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Sunday evening at the Giant Center. The win was Hershey’s 11th straight on home ice, and upped their record to 26-16-3-3 on the season.  The Penguins (28-16-2-3) moved to within one point of the East Division leading Binghamton Senators with the overtime loss.  The two clubs will face off this coming Friday night in Broome County. PENS SCARE OFF PHANTOMS, 3-2

Harry Zolnierczyk, Nick Drazenovic and Mike Carman provided the scoring, and Jeff Deslauriers stopped 23 shots as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins posted a 3-2 win over the Adirondack Phantoms on Saturday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena. GIBBONS, MEGNA, ZOLNIERCZYK RETURN TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forwards Brian Gibbons, Jayson Megna and Harry Zolnierczyk to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. EBBETT’S RETURN SPARKS PENS TO 5-1 WIN OVER PIRATES

Andrew Ebbett’s return to Wilkes-Barre proved to be the perfect antidote to the Penguins’ power play woes. PENGUINS ACQUIRE SPENCER MACHACEK FROM COLUMBUS

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Spencer Machacek from the Columbus Blue Jackets for Paul Thompson, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Machacek will report to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL).
