EBBETT RETURNS TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Andrew Ebbett to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Ebbett has appeared in seven games this season for Pittsburgh, collecting one assist. He has 15 points (6G-9A) in 18 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this year. HARTZELL NAMED CCM/AHL GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today that Eric Hartzell has been selected as CCM/AHL Goaltender of the Month for January.   Hartzell made 10 appearances during the month and allowed two goals or fewer in each of them, posting a record of 5-2-0 with a 1.33 goals-against average, a .944 save percentage and one shutout.   Hartzell began January with a 23-save performance in a 4-1 win over Binghamton on… read more

PENGUINS ASSIGN D’AGOSTINO AND RUOPP TO WBS

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that defensemen Nick D’Agostino and Harrison Ruopp have been assigned from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) by the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL).    D’Agostino, 23, has appeared in 25 games this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, collecting seven points (1g-7a) and 11 penalty minutes.  The first-year defenseman has also posted three assists in seven contests with the Nailers.  A native of Bolton, Ontario,… read more

AMERKS SHUT OUT THE PENS, 4-0

The Rochester Americans ran their winning streak to seven straight on Saturday night, taking a 4-0 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Mohegan Sun Arena. ADMIRALS TAKE FOURTH OF SEASON FROM PENGUINS

A pair of first period tallies and the solid goaltending of John Gibson was all the Norfolk Admirals needed to post a 2-1 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena.  The win was the fourth of the season for the Admirals ( 23-13-1-7, 54 points) against the Penguins (26-15-1-3, 56 points), and pulled the visitors to within two points of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for second place in the East Division.
