PENGUINS SCUTTLED BY ADMIRALS

SILL RETURNS TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward ZACH SILL to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced Thursday by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Sill, 25, has played in 20 NHL games this season with Pittsburgh, serving as a major contributor to the Penguins’ No. 1-ranked penalty killing unit by averaging 1:54 shorthanded minutes per game. SAMUELSSON NAMED CCM/AHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today that defenseman Philip Samuelsson has been selected CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 19, 2014. The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned defenseman Simon Despres and forwards Nick Drazenovic and Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
