PENGUINS SIGN CARMAN AND SEVERYN, MAKE ADDITIONAL ROSTER MOVES

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed forward Mike Carman to an American Hockey League contract and forward C.J. Severyn to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).     Signed to a PTO by the Penguins on Sept. 24, Carman has recorded two goals, three assists and four penalty minutes in 13 games.  The 25-year old spent the 2012-13 season with the Hershey Bears, collecting four goals, six assists and 20 penalty minutes in 62… read more

WHEELING WEEKEND UPDATE

By William Engelman The red hot Wheeling Nailers continued their hot streak last week, posting a 3-0-0-1 mark in four contests.  After starting the season by going just 3-5-0-1, the Nailers have posted an 8-0-0-2 mark in their past 10 games, raising their overall record to 11-5-0-3, good for first place in the Atlantic Division. PENGUINS RALLY FALLS SHORT IN OT LOSS TO BEARS

Game Sheet   SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins were able to rally back from a two-goal deficit in the third period, but David Kolomatis scored with 6.6 seconds left in overtime to give the Hershey Bears a 3-2 win at GIANT Center.   In their previous four meetings this season, the Penguins were forced to come from behind to earn wins over the Bears.  Saturday night’s game would prove no exception as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton trailed, 2-0, after two periods… read more

HARTZELL’S SHUTOUT LEADS PENGUINS PAST SENATORS

PENGUINS SIGN DESLAURIERS TO AHL CONTRACT

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed goaltender Jeff Deslauriers to an American Hockey League contract.    Originally signed to a professional tryout agreement by the Penguins on Sept. 24, Deslauriers has gone on to post a 10-4-2 record with a 2.38 goals against average and a .899 save percentage.  He currently leads all AHL goalies in wins (10) and ranks third in minutes played (932).    The 29-year old from St-Jean-Richelieu,… read more

PENS OFFENSE HELD AT BAY BY PHANTOMS

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forwards Jayson Megna and Chris Conner and defenseman Simon Despresfrom Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
