Upcoming weekend sees W-B/Scranton battle East Division foes  Weekly Rewind Fri., Dec. 20– PENGUINS 1 vs. Worcester 4 Worcester held W-B/Scranton to eight shots through two periods and built a three-goal lead before scoring a 4-1 triumph in Wilkes-Barre. PENGUINS HOLD ON FOR WIN OVER CRUNCH

PENGUINS SIGN TORQUATO TO PTO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed center Zack Torquato to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).    Currently in his third season with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), Torquato has registered 31 points (9g-22a) and 18 penalty minutes in 25 games this season and is the team’s leader in goals, assists and points. SHARKS WORK PAST PENGUINS

GIBBONS BACK TO THE BURGH

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Brian Gibbons from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Gibbons, 25, is in his second stint of the season with the Penguins. He scored his first NHL goal and added an assist for two points in a 3-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Nov. 18. PENGUINS RECALL STEVENSON FROM WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have recalled defenseman Dustin Stevenson from loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).    Stevenson, 24, made his American Hockey League debut earlier this season, appearing in four games for the Penguins and recording two penalty minutes.  In 14 games this season with Wheeling, the fourth-year pro has posted five assists and 38 PIM.    Stevenson has totaled three goals, 31 assists and 298… read more

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Philip Samuelsson and forward Harry Zolnierczyk from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
