PENGUINS SLIDE BY COMETS

PENGUINS DEFEAT BEARS AS KOSTOPOULOS REACHES MILESTONE

GOERS SIGNED TO PTO BY PENGUINS

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed defenseman Barry Goers to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).    A fourth-year pro from Ivyland, Pa., Goers has posted one goal, four assists and two penalty minutes in 10 games for the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.  The 27-year old has skated in 40 American Hockey League contests with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Lake Erie Monsters, collecting eight assists and 19 PIM.  … read more

TUX HONORED BY GAMEOPS.COM

Tux, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins mascot, was recently honored by GameOps.com in the website’s Best of 2013 year-end awards.  Tux received Honorable Mention in the Best Mascot category, ranking just behind winner Benny the Bull from the National Basketball Association’s Chicago Bulls. FALCONS SLIP BY PENGUINS

PENGUINS RETURN ROWNEY TO NAILERS

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Carter Rowney has been returned on loan to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.    Rowney, 23, skated in three contests with the Penguins, making his Wilkes-Barre/Scranton debut on Nov. 29 against the Binghamton Senators.  He has registered six goals, seven assists and seven penalty minutes in 15 games with Wheeling and ranks third on the team in points (13).    Rowney was a four-year letterman… read more

ZOLNIERCZYK RETURNS TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Harry Zolnierczyk to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced Tuesday by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Zolnierczyk, 26, has appeared in three games during two recalls by Pittsburgh this season, going scoreless. Zolnierczyk leads Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with nine goals in 18 AHL games this season. DUMOULIN RECALLED BY PITTSBURGH

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Brian Dumoulin from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced Monday by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Dumoulin, 22, has notched six points (1G-5A) in 22 regular-season games with WBS this year. He appeared in one preseason game for Pittsburgh, collecting one assist and finishing plus-1.
