PENGUINS PUT A HALT TO SENATORS’ WIN STREAK

PENGUINS BEGIN NEW YEAR WITH SHOOTOUT WIN OVER WOLF PACK

ORPIK NAMED TO US MEN’S OLYMPIC TEAM

Former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik has been named to the 2014 United States Men’s Olympic Hockey Team.  The announcement of the full team roster was made by USA Hockey on January 1. Orpik, 33, will be competing in his second straight Olympics after helping the Americans capture a silver medal in 2010 at the Vancouver Games.  Orpik played in all six games for the Americans in 2010, finishing with a plus-2 rating. ZOLNIERCZYK, DUMOULIN BACK TO WBS

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Harry Zolnierczyk and defenseman Brian Dumoulin to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. ROWNEY RECALLED BY PENGUINS FROM WHEELING
