CHILLIN’ WITH THE PENGUINS BACK FOR A THIRD SEASON

MIKKELSON, PENS READY FOR CRUNCH TIME

NAILERS WEEKEND RECAP

By Bill Engleman The Wheeling Nailers (2-3-0-0, 4 points) split a pair of home contests this past weekend, falling to the Reading Royals, 6-2, on Friday evening, and defeating the Greenville Road Warriors, 5-3, on Saturday night.  Rookie netminder Eric Hartzell made his Nailers’ debut against Reading on Friday, stopping 25 of 30 shots he faced in the loss.  Jack MacLellan and Carter Rowney scored the lone goals for Wheeling. PENGUINS ASSIGN HARTZELL TO WHEELING

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – It was announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned goaltender Eric Hartzell from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.    Hartzell, 23, originally signed with Pittsburgh in April after completing four seasons with Quinnipiac University.
