D’AVERSA, SILL SUMMONED FROM WHEELING NAILERS

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned defenseman Jon D’Aversa from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced today. Additionally, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have recalled forward Zach Sill from the Wheeling Nailers. D’Aversa, 23, returned from a short absence due to injury and appeared in three games with the Nailers, posting one goal. JOEY HADDAD REASSIGNED TO PENGUINS

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned left wing Joey Haddad from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced on Monday. Haddad, 21, joins the Penguins for the first time this season. He is currently tied for the scoring lead on the Nailers with ten points (4G, 6A) in 12 games. The American Hockey League announced Monday that John Curry and Brad Thiessen of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have been named co-winners of the Reebok/AHL Goaltender of the Month award for October. Curry and Thiessen split the goaltending chores and combined to go 8-0-0 with a 1.84 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage as the Penguins remained the league’s only unbeaten team. WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned right wing Nick Petersen from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced on Monday. Penguins Spoil Charlotte Debut

Dustin Jeffrey netted two goals and Brad Thiessen made 30 saves to lead the Penguins to a 4-2 win over the Charlotte Checkers on Friday night. The game was the first regular season home contest for the Checkers, the new AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes.
