HERSHEY, PA – Josh Godfrey picked up the hat trick, Alexandre Giroux added four points (2+2) and the Hershey Bears used six power play goals to post an 8-2 win against the Penguins in the team's final preseason tuneup. The clubs will meet again on Wednesday night in their AHL season openers. The fight-filled game saw the Penguins shorthanded 12 times on the night, with the Bears taking advantage half the time. Hershey scored three goals in the first and second periods, and jumped out to an 8-0 lead by the 1:22 mark of the third period. The Pens netted two late goals, as Mark Letestu and Reid Cashman picked up late goals to ruin Darren Machesney's shutout bid. Adam Berkhoel started in net for the Penguins, stopping 24 of 32 shots on the night before being relieved by David Brown early in the final frame.
