Catching Up with Peter Mannino
Goaltender Peter Mannino was signed to an American Hockey League contract by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on July 24th. He spent the 2012-13 season with the Manchester Monarchs, but a late-season injury limited Mannino to just 20 games as he posted a 10-7-0 record with 2.47 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.
A native of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Mannino comes to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with a carrer AHL record of a 81-52-8 with four shutouts, a 2.83 GAA and a .905 save percentage. The 29-year old has appeared in six NHL games with the Islanders, Atlanta Thrashers and Winnipeg Jets.
Peter took some time earlier this week to speak with Penguins color commentator Mike O'Brien to talk about his role this upcoming season, playing with Chris Chelios and who is the greatest tennis player of all time.
