Hockey fans now have a portal to the Ice Rink at Coal Street, northeastern Pennsylvania’s newest state-of-the-art ice facility, with the launch of coalstreeticerink.com.
The website will serve as the facility’s official information center. Visitors are now able to get up to the date information on the rink’s ice schedules, public skating session hours and figure skating times, as well as numerous other events.
Information on youth and adult “learn to skate” and “learn to play” programs, birthday parties, adult hockey leagues and open hockey slots can also be found at coalstreeticerink.com.
Exciting summer camps are coming soon to the Ice Rink at Coal Street. “Dennis Bonvie’s Battle Camp” will run from June 7th-10th; “Steel Power Skating Development” with Pittsburgh Penguins skating instructor Marianne Watkins is slated for June 11th-13th; “Camp Corupe”, hosted by former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Kenny Corupe, will take place from July 18th-23rd; and the “Penguins Summer Camp,” featuring Wilkes-Barre/Scranton head coach Todd Reirden, takes place August 16th-20th. Flyers and registration forms are currently available for download through the website.
The Ice Rink at Coal Street serves as the home of the Wilkes-Barre Junior Pens, the Diamond City Figure Skating Club, and the Anthracite Curling Club, and will serve as the official practice facility of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins next season – with all team practices at the facility open to the public at no charge.
