HADDAD RETURNS TO WILKES-BARRE
The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned forward Joey Haddad from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced on Thursday.
The 22-year-old native of Sydney, Nova Scotia has appeared in 19 games with the Penguins this season, posting three assists and 22 penalty minutes. He recorded his first AHL point in his first AHL game, on November 19th at Hartford. He registered a two-assist effort on December 26th vs. Albany.
Haddad has recorded 20 points (7+13) in 34 games with the Nailers, including three multiple-point games during the month of February.
The 6-2, 190-lb. left winger finished third in points over his last two junior seasons with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (QMJHL). He was signed by Pittsburgh as a free agent on September 18, 2008.
