DeSMITH STEPS IN TO LEAD PENS

He outdid that total by nearly 14 minutes on Saturday night alone. JARRETT BURTON RELEASED FROM PTO

April 24, 2016   WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have released forward Jarrett Burton from his professional tryout contract. Burton will join the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), the team he led in points at the time of his PTO signing with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton back on Feb. 6, 2016. JARRY RE-JOINS WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON

  April 20, 2016   The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned goaltender Tristan Jarry to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.   Jarry, 20, dressed as the Penguins’ backup goaltender behind Jeff Zatkoff for Games 1 and 2 of Pittsburgh’s First Round series against the New York Rangers.   This season, Jarry went 17-13-3 in 33 AHL regular-season games as a rookie for WBS.… read more

DANIEL SPRONG ASSIGNED TO WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON

April 19, 2016   WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced forward Daniel Sprong has been assigned by the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from his junior club, the Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL). The first Dutch native drafted by an NHL club when Pittsburgh took him 46th overall in the 2015 draft, Sprong appeared in 18 games with Pittsburgh earlier in the season as an 18-year-old, tallying two goals.
