Killeen Assigned to Wheeling
Nailers look to clinch playoff spot tonight versus Trenton
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – It was announced today that goaltender Patrick Killeen has been re-assigned to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Killeen returns to the Nailers where he has compiled a 17-12-2 record over 34 games this season, while posting a 2.74 goals against average and an .891 save percentage. The second-year netminder from Carp, Ontario has gone 2-2-0 for the Penguins in 2011-12 with a 2.93 GAA and an .871 save percentage in five contests.
Last season during his rookie year, Killeen registered a 19-16-2 record in 40 contests for the Nailers with a 2.87 GAA and a .901 save percentage. Pittsburgh’s sixth-round pick (180th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Killeen recorded a 63-48-15 record during four seasons with the OHL’s Brampton Battalion.
