MONSTERS SWIM PAST PENGUINS ON SUNDAY

CLEVELAND, OH – Jeff Taffe scored 29 seconds into the game, and the Penguins took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. But Lake Erie scored four times in the second period to post a 4-2 victory Sunday evening at the Quicken Loans Arena. Chris Minard added to his league-leading goal total with his 16th of the season (his eighth power play goal of the season), but the Pens could not capitalize the rest of the way. Philippe Dupuis, Rob Drummond, Aaron MacKenzie and Chris Durno scored four times in a span of 13:17. Adam Berkhoel suffered his first loss in five starts, stopping 11 of 15 shots he faced. Tyler Weiman stopped 30 shots in the win for Lake Erie, which earned its first win in three tries against the Penguins.
