Penguins Assign Killeen to Wheeling
Second-year goaltender returns to Nailers
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that goaltender Patrick Killeen has been assigned to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Originally assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on January 3, Killeen dressed for four games with the Penguins. The second-year netminder from Carp, Ontario has gone 10-8-2 with a 2.86 goals against average and a .880 save percentage in 21 games this season with Wheeling.
Last season during his rookie year, Killeen registered a 19-16-2 record in 40 contests with a 2.87 GAA and a .901 save percentage. Pittsburgh’s sixth-round pick (180th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Killeen compiled a 63-48-15 record during four seasons with the OHL’s Brampton Battalion.
