Penguins Recall Forward Eric Tangradi from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Eric Tangradi from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Tangradi, 22, currently leads WBS with 14 goals and ranks second with 25 points in 30 games. Tangradi will be appearing in third stint with the Pittsburgh this season. He is scoreless in four games with the team this season.
The 6-foot-4, 221-pound Tangradi split last season between Pittsburgh and WBS after making the NHL roster at the outset of camp. Tangradi has played 20 career regular-season games for Pittsburgh, collecting three points (1G-2A). He has appeared in 137 career AHL contests, tallying 49 goals and 97 points.
Tangradi, who was originally drafted by Anaheim in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft, played three seasons with Belleville of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 2006-09, posting 168 points (67G-101A) in 176 career games.
