PENGUINS RELEASE CIANFRINI FROM PTO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today announced that they have released defenseman Paul Cianfrini from his professional tryout agreement (PTO).    Cianfrini, 25, made his American Hockey League and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton debut on Saturday in the Penguins’ 3-0 win at Binghamton.  He has collected one goal, two assists and two penalty minutes in 16 games this season for the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).    The third-year pro has appeared in 154… read more

PITTSBURGH RECALLS POULIOT, CHORNEY

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defensemen Derrick Pouliot and Taylor Chorney from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford. Pouliot, 20, leads WBS in scoring this season with 20 points (7G-13A) in 23 games. His 13 assists also pace the club.
