Penguins and Bears Set For First-Round Battle
Eastern Conference Quarterfinal begins Friday at Mohegan Sun Arena

FRIDAY, APRIL 13: PENGUINS 1, Senators 3…
Robin Lehner was stellar in net for the Senators as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins fell to Binghamton, 3-1, at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
 
Ryan Craig opened the scoring with a power play goal at 7:11 of the first period, but the Senators would go on to score the next three markers for just their third win in ten games against the Penguins. 
 
Pat Cannone (1g-1a), David Dziurzynski (1g-1a) and Andre Petersson (2a) all had multi-point games despite being limited to 17 shots by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defense. 
 
SATURDAY, APRIL 14: PENGUINS 3, Sound Tigers 2…
Mark Halmo scored 22 seconds into the game for Bridgeport, but Wilkes-Barre/Scranton went on to tally the next three as the Penguins pulled out a 3-2 win in their regular season home finale. 
 
Steve MacIntyre knotted the contest at 2:53 of the first with his first goal of season and Colin McDonald put the Penguins ahead with a power play tally –his 14th overall this year – late in the frame.  Jason Williams notched the game-winner 66 seconds into the third period.
 
Brad Thiessen stopped 22 shots for his 23rd win of the season.
 
SUNDAY, APRIL 15: Penguins 2, SOUND TIGERS 3…
For the third game in a row, the team that registered the game’s first goal did not come away with the victory as Bridgeport rallied for a 3-2 win against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the regular season finale for both teams. 
 
The Penguins went ahead three minutes into the second period on Brandon DeFazio’s 11th of season.   Bryan Lerg would tie things up at 4:45 of the third after Bridgeport had taken a 2-1 edge.
 
Rhett Rakhshani’s goal on the man-advantage with 6:25 left was the deciding goal in the win for the Sound Tigers.  Scott Munroe took the loss against his former team, having made 25 saves on 28 shots.

The Penguins and Bears renew their rivalry in the best-of-five Eastern Conference Quarterfinal.  This will be the sixth postseason meeting between the two teams with Hershey holding the 3-2 series edge all-time.
 
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was 7-3-0-2 this season versus Hershey and 3-2-0-1 at Mohegan Sun Arena.  Bryan Lerg and Ben Street paced the Penguins offence against the Bears as both players recorded three goals and eight assists for 11 points.  Ryan Potulny (6g-6a) and Chris Bourque (2g-10a) were the high scorers in the season series with 12 points each.
 
The Penguins are now 66-55-4-6-5 (W-L-T-OTL-SOL) in the all-time series against the Bears.
