PENS FACE ADMIRALS FRIDAY

Norfolk AdmiralsThe Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are back home after the holiday break to take on the Norfolk Admirals at 7:05pm on Friday night.

The Penguins (17-8-1-2, 37points, first in East Division) are are 3-2-0-0 on their current six-game homestand, and are coming off of a 2-1 win over the Syracuse Crunch on December 21.

Norfolk (14-11-1-4, 33 points, third in East Division) have played in nine shootout contests this year, the second-most in the AHL.

This is the second of eight meetings between the clubs this season.

  • Jeff Deslauriers is tied for sixth with a 2.24 goals against average and tied for the fourth with 12 victories and is 10th.
  • Eric Hartzell is tied for second with two shutouts.
  • Pens captain Tom Kostopoulos is tied tied for seventh with six power play goals.
  • Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond is fourth in the league with 111 penalty minutes.
  • Brendan Mikkelson is tied for seventh among defensemen with 17 points, tied for 25th in the league with 15 assists, tied for second with 11 power play assists, tied for first with two overtime goals and tied for third with three game-winning goals.
  • Tom Kuhnhackl is tied for third with three game-winning goals.
