PENS FIVE GAME STREAK ENDS IN ALBANY
ALBANY, NY – The Albany River Rats jumped out to a 3-0 lead, then held on to post a 3-2 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday night at the Times Union Center. The win was Albany's first victory against the Penguins in three chances this season.
Jakub Petruzalek, Mike Angelidis and Brett Carson posted goals for the River Rats, who posted their second straight win to up their record to 13-17-3-2. The loss snapped Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's season high five-game winning streak, and saw the Pens record di to 20-12-1-1.
Danny Richmond and Jean-Michel Daoust mounted a small comeback for the Penguins, scoring 1:34 apart midway through the third period. But goaltender Justin Peters held the fort down, stopping 33 of 35 shots on the night.
Adam Berkhoel suffered the loss for the Pens, stopping 17 shots on the night.
NOTES: Chris Minard's seven-game goal scoring streak came to an end in the loss.
