KOSTOPOULOS TO SERVE AS CAPTAIN AT AHL ALL-STAR CLASSIC

BILL GUERIN NAMED HONORARY CAPTAIN FOR 2015 AHL ALL-STAR CLASSIC

American Hockey League President and CEO David Andrews announced today that Bill Guerin and Eric Weinrich will serve as the honorary captains for the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino, to be held January 25-26 in Utica, N.Y. PITTSBURGH ASSIGNS HARTZELL TO WBS

  WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned goaltender Eric Hartzell to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced today   In two appearances this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hartzell went 2-0-0 with a 2.92 goals against average and a .882 save percentage.   He has also compiled a record of 5-4-0 for the Nailers in 2014-15, while recording a 2.54 GAA, a .915 save percentage and one shutout.    A 25-year… read more

PITTSBURGH RECALLS ZATKOFF

  The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled goaltender Jeff Zatkoff from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford. Zatkoff, 27, has played in 15 AHL games with WBS this season, posting a 9-5-1 record, 1.89 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage with one shutout. PENGUINS RECALL SEYMOUR FROM WHEELING

PENGUINS BATTLE PAST BEARS IN OVERTIME, 3-2

PITTSBURGH RECALLS HARRINGTON

December 14, 2014 The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Scott Harrington from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, it was announced on Sunday. Harrington has appeared in 21 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, recording five assists, 12 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating.  The second-year pro has 39 points (5+24), 67 penalty minutes and a plus-15 rating in 97 career AHL games. PENGUINS FALL TO PHANTOMS IN SHOOTOUT
