Penguins News

If you happened to be in the area of Coal Street Park around 1:00pm on Saturday, you saw what some would consider a strange sight - a six foot tall Penguin washing cars in the parking lot.

The Penguin in question was Tux, and the cars belonged to season ticket holders taking part in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins first ever STH Car Wash.

The event was staged to say Thank You to season ticket holders for renewing their seats early for the 2013-14 season.  It was just one of a handful of fun summertime events the team has made avaialble to its season ticket holders this year, which also included tickets to a Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders game (800 STHs attended!), tickets to races at Pocono Raceway, and an evening of free ice skating at the Ice Rink at Coal Street.

About 60 cars stopped by during the two hour time slot to have soap slopped on and sprayed off by members of the Penguins front office.  Pittsburgh Penguins first round draft pick Derrick Pouliot was also on hand to help out and greet fans.

The car wash is just one of the small perks of being a Penguins Season Ticket Holder, which also includes discounts off Penguins tickets and items in the Penguins team store, invites to exclusive meet and greet opportunities in season, and great gifts from the Pens.  To learn more on how you can become a season ticket holder, contact Brian Troiano at 570-208-5428, or fill in the information sheet below and a Penguins ticket representative will contact you directly.
