PITTSBURGH RECALLS MEGNA

October 30, 2014 The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Jayson Megna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford. Megna, 24, has skated in nine AHL games with WBS this season, scoring two goals and adding an assist for three points. PENS TAKE 2-1 OT WIN OVER PHANTOMS

October 29, 2014 Jean-Sebastien Dea's goal at 4:58 of overtime was the difference, as the Penguins posted a 2-1 win over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Wednesday night in Allentown.  The Penguins upped their record to 5-4-0-0 on the season after winning their second game in overtime this year.  The Phantoms fell to 4-2-1-0 with the loss. PENS HEAD TO ALLENTOWN

The Penguins will visit Allentown for the first time when they square off with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Wednesday night.  The contest is the first of a three-game road trip, which also sees Wilkes-Barre/Scranton travel to Norfolk for a two-game set on Friday and Saturday nights. Derrick Pouliot netted his first pro goal, Tom Kostopoulos added to his all-time team record, and Andrew Ebbett notched the game-winner, as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins downed the Binghamton Senators, 3-2, on Sunday evening at the Mohegan Sun Arena. The Penguins wrap up their first three-in-three weekend with a Sunday afternoon contest against the Binghamton Senators at 4:05pm. BEARS BEAT BACK PENS, 4-1

The Hershey Bears netted a pair of first period goals just 40 seconds apart and never looked back, as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins dropped a 4-1 decision at the Giant Center on Saturday night.  It was the first home game of the 2014-15 season for the Bears (4-2-0-0, T-1st place in East Division), who will face off with the Penguins (3-4-0-0, 3rd place in East Division) 11 more times this season.
