PITTSBURGH SIGNS RYAN CRAIG

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Ryan Craig to a one-year contract, it was announced yesterday by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. The deal is for the 2010-11 season and is a two-way contract that will pay Craig $500,000 at the NHL level. Craig, 28, has played the last five seasons with the Tampa Bay organization after the Lightning selected him in the eighth round (255th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill today named former Aero Mike Yeo (pronounced YOH) as the team’s new Head Coach. Yeo, who spent the past five seasons as an Assistant Coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL), played five seasons with the Aeros (1994-99) and was the captain of Houston’s 1999 Turner Cup Championship team. The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Chris Conner from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
